Since then, he has made his mark on the University Club with his exceptional knowledge of the industry and his enthusiastic attitude towards service. With experience managing private clubs up and down the East Coast, James is an excellent leader for our staff.
Jon Zedonek, CCM
Assistant General Manager
Jonathan is a North Carolina native, born at Fort Bragg while his father served in the Army. He grew up in central Florida and attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola earning his hospitality management degree. For the past ten years, Jon has been managing a country club in Alabama, and earned his Certified Club Manager designation in 2018.
Banquet and Catering Sales Manager
Cassie has been a part of the University Club family for over 15 years. From extravagant weddings to corporate meetings, Cassie has seen it all. She is an expert on all of our unique event spaces and can seamlessly guide you through your next event. Setting up table arrangements and developing a menu are simple tasks with Cassie by your side. The service and expertise Cassie provides to non-member banquets is just as special as the attention she gives our members each and every day. With the strong relationships she has developed with our loyal members over the years, Cassie truly is the heart of the University Club.
David Ray, CPA
David has a thorough NC State background - earning both his undergraduate and masters degree from the University, but his passion for NCSU doesn't stop there. Our alum members might remember buying their textbooks from David during his many years managing Addam's University Bookstore that served NC State's campus. Now David spends his time handling all things UClub- from facilitating the hiring of only the best employees to serve our members to making sure every dollar spent at the UClub is being used to benefit our members.
Kelsey is a graduate of NC State studying communication, business, and recreation and tourism management. She introduces interested candidates to the Club, showing off all we have to offer and assisting them as they navigate the application process. Managing our fun social events and leading web communications, Kelsey is here to make sure that our members are happy, having fun, and that their expectations are being exceeded everyday at the University Club.

Leigh Anne Murphy
Food & Beverage Manager
Leigh Anne is the face of our dining facilities. With her many years of dining management experience, Leigh Anne creates a fun, social atmosphere for our members. Whether you are having a drink in the Pack House Bar, stopping by for an easy dinner with the kids in our Casual Dining Area, gathering for a family meal in our Dining Room, or enjoying a cool summer evening by the fire pit on our patio, Leigh Anne will make sure you are getting quality service every step of the way. She focuses on hiring friendly and attentive dining staff that will make every meal at the University Club a positive experience. Leigh Anne loves to see our regulars passing through everyday for our lunch buffet as well as our popular Sunday Brunches. Introduce yourself next time you are dining with us!
Naoki is a familiar face you will often see around the Club. His connection to our long-time members is evident after 10+ years as part of our team. As our newer club members spend more time dining with us, it is inevitable that they, too, will quickly get to know Naoki. While keeping the shelves fully-stocked with all your favorite beverages, Naoki creates a fun and laid-back atmosphere within our Pack House Bar. Naoki, along with his team of friendly, outgoing bartenders, always takes a personal interest in each of our members. Service is his specialty, so when you see him bouncing from table to table offering our latest drink specials or newest beer on tap, be sure to flag him down. The quality experience he offers is one that you will soon grow accustomed to here at the University Club.
Derrell "P" Toney
During the craziness of your event, it's common to worry about the food getting out on time, your guests being too cold, or the microphone not working for your speaker. At the University Club, Derrell does that for you! Leading an excellent staff, many of whom have been part of the University Club for years, Derrell makes sure every detail of your event is exactly how you imagined it from the layout of your place settings to the presentation software. You will often see him around during our large events. Feel free to stop him or one of his senior banquet staff members with any questions or concerns while your group is at the University Club.
